Stuart
triumphs in Guilds Apprentice of the Year Awards - 2005
At
the recent City of Coventry Freemen's Awards dinner held at St Marys
Hall Stuart Tarbert became the first winner of the Guilds Apprentice
of the Year award.
Stuart an apprentice with Jaguar Cars was selected from six finalists
and received a £1000 cheque and a trophy commemorating his success.
In addition the other finalists received £100 and a trophy.
The judging panel made up of representatives from the Guild, the community
and industry also awarded a special a prize to Hazel Williams an apprentice
with The Whitefriars Housing Group.
Hazel
impressed the panel with her endeavour to help and assist others in
a work place environment to overcome some of the difficulties they were
experiencing as apprentices.
The Master
of the Guild, George Wilkinson said,
"The
Guild is keen to promote the achievements of young people and particularly
the value we should all place on the need for apprentices in all professions
to ensure Coventry remains a prosperous and dynamic City".
